The Thom Yorke Viral Experience was the first viral mobile campaign to be delivered by Potential Difference. Thom Yorke is the lead singer of Radiohead. Working in Partnership with Indie Mobile, our team assisted in the design and development of a data capture system integrating with an online SMS broadcast database and user interface allowing subscribers to download additional tunes, ring tones and singer content.
The stats from the project speak for themselves. 25 text messages were sent out. (15 messages in the UK; 10 messages in USA) 5 days later there had been a viral spread with a ratio of 500:1. For each initial user within 5 days, 500 data capture units had been received. That's 12,500 data captures - in 5 days!!!!
In the 3 months since the “The Viral Experience” started there have been over 40,000 units of data capture. With mobiles becoming the device all marketers are targeting for future campaigns, Potential Difference can provide a full suite of online broadcast tools reaching a user base through Email, mobile, RSS and Podcast formats.
