Being a predominantly male studio there was much excitement when we won the contract to deliver the Gumball live website. The designers got to work with images of fast cars and supermodels, the developers got to building a media centre for video and mobile streamed content and our sales director jumped on a plane to Salt Lake City to, in an unofficial capacity, drive the last leg of the rally through Vegas into LA.
Working with film production company Ice Entertainment, Potential Difference ran live video updates from the race that was then streamed either through the live site or downloaded through an SMS subscription service to your mobile phone.
7 days and 3000 miles there was no shortage of footage and as the rally pace picked so did the web traffic, hitting over 4 million visits per day.
